To understand VIET in the correct perspective, remember AMIE was considered as an impossible goal, by many in the student community in Kerala and hardly anyone attempted it, till the establishment of the Institute in 1989. But now we see with great pride and satisfaction, since we could establish beyond doubt that AMIE is within the reach of average students that more students are taking it up. What is the position of the Institute in the educational system Except in autonomous colleges, the colleges conduct the classes and universities conduct the examination. Similarly for AMIE, the classes are conducted in Institutes, and the examinations are conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India). VIET is a recognised body among the students’ community which provide all the facilities in a regular College / Institute. Location of the Institute ' Visveswaraya' is in Kottayam District of Kerala. It is on the banks on the river Pannagam at Mattakara.' Visveswaraya' has its own permanent multi-storied building with advanced facilities for learning. Sree Narayana Gurukulam College of Engineering was established in the year 2002 by Kunnathunadu S.N.D.P Union, head quartered at Perumbavoor with a view to accomplish the ideals of Sree Narayana Guru (1855-1928), the great sage and social reformer who is considered as the leader of IndianRenaissance movement.All India council For Technical Education accorded sanction for offering three B.Tech courses in COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERINGELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERINGELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION ENGINEERINGin the institution from the academic year 2002-2003 .The sanctioned intake for all the courses are 60 each and the institution is affiliated to MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY ,KOTTAYAM. After considering the pace of development and infrastructure creation within the first two years AICTE had sanctioned B.Tech course in MECHANICAL ENGINEERING and MBA PROGRAMME to this institution during 2004 itself. The sanctioned intake for both the new courses being 60 each.The sincere efforts of the GURUKULAM TRUST in creating state of the art infrastructure, dedicated highly qualified senior faculty, disciplined campus, opportunity for co-curricular activities, emphasis on personal development of each student has earned quick reputation for the institution. This in turn made it possible for us to find placement for all most all eligible students from the very first batch itself. The placement and training division could establish linkages with reputed recruiters from campus.The image of the institution is further strengthened when AICTE has accorded sanction for One more BTech course CIVIL ENGINEERING- and also increased the intake of other three courses. Asianet provides dedicated internet connectivity of 1mbps in the internet center and students with blue tooth can access internet from anywhere in the campus including women’s hostel.
