In his own words, "I was instantly impressed with The Gurukul when I saw the school's logo: a child reading under a coconut palm! That reminded me so much of Shantiniketan. Then I read about The Gurukul. I was pleasantly surprised to note that someone in India had the foresight and the courage to fight the factory model of schooling and show India what 'educating the whole child' is all about. Soon after, I was asked if I would consider being at the helm! I jumped at the idea. I'm glad I did. The Gurukul chidren stand out from the crowd already; and we opened our school only one and a half years ago. After seeing schools in different parts of the country, I am convinced that India needs schools such as The Gurukul." -
