Muttathu Varkey
Distinguished writer T. Padmanabhan has won this year's Muttathu Varkey Award, the highest award given for Malayalam Literature. It was constituted by Muttathu Varkey's fans, friends, and relatives. The winner was selected by popular opinion voting system and then prominent judges' final decision. Announcing this at a news conference, Muttathu Varkey foundation Chairman M K Madhavan Nair and Secretary Dr. Mathew J Muttathu said the award, consisting of a cash prize of Rs 33,333, memento and citation would be presented at a function at Kazhikode on May 28, the 18th death anniversary of Muttathu Varkey -
Open Eyed Dreams - Art Exhibition Series
Open Eyed Dreams, a premier art promotion venture, was launched by Dilip Narayanan in 2002. The initiative that began with a collection from eight artists has today a growing portfolio claiming exclusive representation from over 40 eminent artists in the country. It has held six major shows and a National Art Meet in Kerala. More exhibitions, tours and camps are scheduled running up to 2009.
