Distinguished writer T. Padmanabhan has won this year's Muttathu Varkey Award, the highest award given for Malayalam Literature. It was constituted by Muttathu Varkey's fans, friends, and relatives. The winner was selected by popular opinion voting system and then prominent judges' final decision.
